Fairdeal Wealth Advisors, founded by Varun Hiremath was awarded the Times Trendsetter award for the use of AI in management & construction of portfolios. FairDeal is developing a technique that uses AI to pick stocks, and make changes to portfolios based on movement in technical and fundamental parameters.

The technique under development is aimed at helping investors optimise their portfolios across direct and indirect investments. “Using AI to build and manage portfolios can improve returns, but it’s important to be cautious and consider various factors. Investing carries risk, and AI is not fool proof just yet”, said Varun. “At Fairdeal Wealth Advisors, we are focused on developing a comprehensive understanding of how the AI system works.

We are gaining experience and awareness on AI’s limitations with respect to investment decisions. We attempt to leverage traditional investing concepts like diversification by using AI to optimize the diversification strategy. While AI is a powerful tool it is not a replacement for judgment, staying informed on market developments and broader economic indicators is equally important.”
